Week 12 Part A: Using Business Specific Online Tools

With a good enough imagination, any smart business owner can optimize business specific online tools. Of the ones listed, I can easily picture Weed em and Reap being able to profit, from being able to entice new buyers, to collaboration partners, and even going viral on tiktok or other such apps. 

I tend to be stingy with my money, so I'd probably avoid pay to use websites and subscriptions at all costs; Still, social networking on LinkedIn or Meet Ups would be very useful in finding good influencers who can promote my product and other businesses I could partner with as a floral industry. It is a good way to meet people who are looking for such a collaboration, otherwise they wouldn't also have an account.

It is always annoying when restaurants I'm ordering from don't have their menu on google; While I don't sell food, I think having my bouquets and flowers easily available to read about and look at would be much appreciated. Using the google apps just makes it easier for customers online shopping to quickly find the website, products, and location, so I would take the use of all of them very seriously.

I would be hesitant about using Yelp, though my curiosity would probably get the best of me sooner or later. I find that people who have a bad experience are more likely to leave a review than ones who had a good but unremarkable one, so the reviews and ratings can often be skewed. 

I think I could somehow use music apps like spotify or google music to my advantage as well. An official weed em and reap playlist, or bouquets inspired by songs with the spotify code on the tag, perhaps requested as custom orders. As i've talked about several posts back, I think I could utilize tiktok the most. I've seen florists go viral already, so whose to say weed em and reap can't.

  1. Your networking approach to use LinkedIn and Meet Ups to find influencers and others to collaborate, partner, and promote your business fits perfectly with those platforms. Creating a Weed em and Reap playlist on Spotify and Google music will also attract new customers and increase your customer base.

  2. I LOVE the idea of a Weed em & Reap playlist! Spotify and google Music sound like a very creative tool to use. Imagination is something that I lack and it really doesn't fit my business. I also think that LinkedIn and Google Apps would benefit your business.

  3. Hi Andrew, i agree with your thougth on Yelp! I do sometimes use it to see if anyone recommends a certain dish or cocktail, however, i do take the negative reviews with a pinch of salt! Everyone has different opinions and expectations which is fine, but i agree with the negative experiences typically being aired more than the positives.
